Jarrad Cormier is an associate in the firm’s Texas office where he focuses on Texas and Oklahoma mineral and energy law, to include deals involving the purchase, sale and development of oil and gas assets, drafting and negotiation of Master Services Agreements, operational issues facing upstream oil and gas producers, oil and gas property title examination, due diligence, and rendering title opinions.
Jarrad graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Texas A&M University and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence, with honors, from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
While in law school, Jarrad was a member of the Order of the Solicitors and a Research Assistant for Professor Owen Anderson. As a Research Assistant, Jarrad worked on case updates for the Kuntz Treatise on the Law of Oil & Gas, Lexis Oil & Gas Reporter, and Lexis Waters and Water Rights Treatise. Jarrad also received the Oklahoma City Mineral Lawyers Society Scholar Award for his research paper titled “Don’t Forget About Duhig: Why Mineral Owners Should Pay Attention,” which was published in the Oklahoma Bar Association Energy & Natural Resources Newsletter (May 2014). He received three American Jurisprudence “AmJur” awards for Energy and Natural Resources, Oil & Gas Contracts, and International Petroleum Transactions.
Jarrad is licensed to practice law in Texas and Oklahoma, and is a member of the Oil, Gas & Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and the Energy and Natural Resources Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association, as well as American Association of Professional Landmen and North Houston Association of Professional Landmen.
