Amy Zolkoski Cann is Senior Counsel in the firm’s Texas office. A native of Montgomery, Texas, her practice focuses on oil, gas and mineral law in Texas and Kansas, including drillsite and division order title examination, due diligence projects related to the acquisition and divestiture of mineral properties, and the preparation of real property instruments and contracts in connection with upstream oil and gas operations.
She earned a Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Studies (2004) and a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations (2005) from The University of Texas at Austin and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2007. Prior to joining Dupuis & Polozola, Amy was an Associate Attorney at Labanowski & Associates, Assistant Manager of the Eagle Ford Shale Team at the Sadler Law Firm and Energy Associate in the Energy Section in The Woodlands, Texas office of Steptoe & Johnson, PLLC. She also has experience working as a field landman and specializes in stand up title examinations upon client request. Amy’s land and legal backgrounds give her a unique and practical perspective when providing advice and assistance to client landmen and attorneys.
Amy is licensed to practice law in Texas and Kansas and is a member of the State Bar College of Texas, the Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, the Oil, Gas & Mineral Law Section of the Houston Bar Association and the Energy Section of the Woodlands Bar Association. She is also a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen, Houston Association of Professional Landmen, North Houston Association of Professional Landmen and the Texas Exes Montgomery County Chapter. Amy currently serves as Secretary of the Houston Children’s Chorus Board of Directors and is active in fundraising, marketing and outreach efforts for the organization.
