Steven Lombardo is Senior Counsel in the firm’s Texas office. His practice focuses on oil, gas, and mineral law in Texas, including the preparation of drilling and division order title opinions.
Steven’s practice includes mineral title examination, due diligence, mineral receiverships, acquisition and divestiture of oil and gas assets, contract negotiation and other related transactional matters.
Steven began his legal career in the oil and gas industry by working as an independent landman building runsheets and drafting mineral ownership reports, negotiating leases, obtaining easements and drafting curative instruments. Steven has experience performing stand-up title examination throughout South Texas, and has petitioned courts throughout Texas to appoint attorneys ad litem to represent unknown and absentee mineral, royalty and leasehold owners, and to appoint receivers to execute oil and gas leases and assignments on behalf of such absentee owners.
Steven graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from the University of Houston and from Texas A&M University School of Law (formerly Texas Wesleyan) in 2007 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. He is licensed to practice in Texas and Tennessee, and is a member of the Oil, Gas and Energy Section and the Environmental and Natural Resources Section of the Texas Bar.
