Jack Searcy is senior counsel in the Woodlands office of Dupuis & Polozola. Prior to joining the firm, Jack spent over 32 years at Labanowski & Associates (formerly Labanowski, Wilson & Johnson). He has also worked in-house at a small independent oil company, in the legal, land and division order departments. He has extensive experience in all legal aspects of the exploration and production side of the energy industry.
Jack obtained a Bachelor of Science cum laude in 1978 from Louisiana Tech University, majoring in Business Administration. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1981 from the University of Houston.
Jack is licensed in all Texas state courts and is a member of the Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Section of the State Bar of Texas. He has been Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1987. Jack was a member of American Mensa Ltd. for many years. He is also an ordained Presbyterian elder and has earned a black belt from the American Taekwondo Association. Jack believes in a pragmatic approach to legal issues, and advises clients with an eye toward practicality.
